The Second Story Fund was started as the vision of a group of thirty-three individuals. It is the vision of the world becoming a better place, of making a difference in the lives of children, of breaking the cycle of poverty that we were fortunate enough to be born free of.

The Second Story was created to help children incapable of helping themselves, specifically the children of the city of Quito, Ecuador. The founding idea is to empower the children in the world through the means of education and community development. Once empowered, these children, the future generation, will in turn make a positive difference in the world.

Right now the focus is upon a group of children at a combination community center/school/church/clinic called Argelia Alta, which serves a poor mountain top community. The money donated will be used to build another level, a literal second story, at Argelia Alta. The true fruits of each donor’s generosity, though will be second story of each child impacted by this addition to the school. With the new level the children will now be able to continue their education through the high school level, allowing them to pursue a further education, something that was once impossible for them to do.

Though The Second Story Fund was founded by thirty-three individuals, it is in truth much larger than this. It is every person that feels moved to give. It is every person who steps forward to make a difference in the lives of children. It is every person who makes a difference for the better in this world.
